The New Normal

is wearing face masks when you go out.  Quick trip to Eco Shop lining up to get inside premises. If you notice, I actually lined up 2 meters apart. Iz said I really looked like an mco newbie... Coz I stood too far away. When we actually live in the same house, came from the same place... Pasar Borong Selangor limited customers per entry. This is at Pasar Borong Selangor. Felt quite anxious of losing it... It was also my first time going out since mco. scan QR Code or write your name everytime before entering premises. No need to screenshot but I did... As a keepsake on this moment. Kedai budget

RMCO Day 03

Hello RMCO DAY 03! Writing it like this made it look like ooh... we're just in day 3, not that long la we've been undergoing this thingy. But in reality, it is already 85 DAYS since we had to #stayhome #staysafe #kitajagakita #kitamestimenang But DAY 03 also meant lesser roadblocks, police officers and armies got a bit of relief... I even read a friend of mine is happy her police husband is finally coming home. Husband and wife united, living under one roof after being separated due to the no state crossing rule previously... A friend stayed alone with her baby for months since her husband couldn't cross state to come to her... A friend couldn't come home for months, working as a doctor in another state... Seriously, who knew traveling interstate would one day be an offence? Like you'd get fined for doing so. Balik kampung also an offence. Now I came to think of it, previous years commercial ads kept promoting to 'balik kampung' like no matter how important ...

Hello RMCO! And swimming pools are not opened... yet.

So today is the first day of Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO)... 10th June 2020 to 31st August 2020. Came to think of it, almost 80% of the year 2020 we #stayathome #staysafe #kitamestimenang . It's actually DAY 83 today. We started with MCO, CMCO, and now RMCO... It has been a long journey, yes. Some changes in this phase are we are allowed to travel to other states (in Malaysia only), hotels will be opened, some sports are allowed, you can go cut your hair at a salon... BUT SWIMMING IS STILL A NO-NO. They simply put.... "Aktiviti dalam kolam renang" And that, made us swimming instructors outraged, just to exaggerate . But really, we are! The reason is because of 'Mass Gathering'. Like what....... Pfft. OKAY. I wasn't satisfied too so I made a post on Facebook stating my opinion. And I'm writing about it more here... Obviously I am not settled yet aha... Of course la MASS GATHERING . Because you think of the swimming pool as a place to main-main air...

Melemang first time!

Pertama kali bakar lemang. A post on what I learnt from my first experience making lemang from scratch...  Beli buluh yang dah siap ada daun pisang dalamnya! Because... You gotta have SKILLS to insert the pandan leaf inside the bamboo. Ya, ada caranya... Try to Google 'cara masukkan daun pisang dalam buluh' . There is a specific way to insert it. We're not skillful yet so it was a hassle to insert the banana leaf inside the bamboo! No wonder my mum made a BIG FUSS when we bought only the bamboos... I was thinking apa susah... Mana-mana pun ada jual, kebun pisang also got around our neighbourhood...  Got to have a frame/ pancang bakar lemang. We already prepared the fire woods earlier (we trimmed our rambutan tree few weeks ago) but the iron rods for the frame? We kind of forgot about that. So earlier in the morning, Iz went around the neighbourhood asking for iron rods...  The ingredients are CHEAP. Yang buat mahal tu MASA... The current price of lemang sebatang is abou...

5 things I missed the most during the Movement Control Order

Still MCO (18th March)/ CMCO (4th May).  Today is the 64th day . Yup, more than 2 months already! I'm writing this post to make me in check with my own emotions. Honestly, I haven't been all happy throughout this period... Got ups and downs. Most probably because of some things I missed pre-MCO. So here goes.... 1. Working I can't believe I put this in NUMBER ONE! Especially when I used to complain about being so sunburned and feeling so exhausted. But really, I miss the pool! And I miss being a working person. Okay, I might be missing the latter much more. Although I have a much fairer skin now; the sunburn I had for YEARS had started to fade revealing my original skin tone, but the feeling of being jobless sucks . SERIOUSLY. I'm not facing a huge financial difficulty now as I used to before, but it does feel a bit low to not be earning money. 2. Grocery shopping with my mum and Sofia The freedom of browsing around the aisles. Sofia asking me for this and that, and me ...

A story of the past: My Home, Is In My Car 1

Found these writings stored neatly in a file, printed not handwritten. I think I wrote them for a writing competition. But really, I am so grateful I did decided to write them down. Hard times exists to make you stronger, and by going through the past, it reminds you how strong you were. *It's actually quite lengthy, 4 pages. I'm going to make it into several posts konon-konon like a K-drama* My Home, Is In My Car I love to travel. I wish I could spend all my life visiting new places instead of being stuck at home. I wish I lived my life in a suitcase, because then I will not have to worry about forgetting things to bring. I don't have to pack, re-pack, and pack again just so I could bring every single item in my house. I am, after all, a girl. My beauty regime should not be put aside at all times. Moisturizer, sun block cream, cleanser, toner, foundation, blusher, and even mascara- I need them all! When I travel, I travel in style. Who knows I might just bump into some ric...

Because of this MCO...

Image
I get to do a whole load of things I didn't imagine I'd be doing and also learnt a lot of things I didn't think I would if not because of this MCO or PKP (Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan) period. Also a lot of things happened just because of this MCO. Going to include all but maybe have a Part One and Part Two, or even to the extent of Part Three. We'll see. Here's a brief intro on where we are currently... It's already day 52  of the Movement Control Order (MCO). The MCO started on 18th March. Starting 4th May , some regulations became a bit more lenient under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO). Some premises are allowed to reopen and people are even allowed to go jogging! However, this CMCO does no changes to the industry I am in; the swimming industry . SWIMMING POOLS are still a NO-NO. Clearly stated in the rules. Because of this MCO..... 1. I get to binge watch on Netflix. Fuh... The first two weeks of MCO... Me time me time all the way! I watched B...

Benda dah ada

Yang penting sekarang penguatkuasaan... Clothes, food, cooking utensils, arts and craft, medical. Mama, Sofia, and Papa. Anyway... This time around we got Iz's palm to join in. Usually it's just Sofia and I. Will this piece of art make it to the wall of our new home? I kept on making arts to frame, but somehow I kept on losing them pulak. Well, we'll see.

Ramadan 1441 H

Image
Sekali dengan announcement Ramadan, semalam juga PM announce Tempoh Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) dilanjutkan hingga 12 Mei 2020 . The third phase is supposed to end this 28th April... So, yeah. Fourth phase coming up. How's PKP treating you so far? Ok silap. How are you doing in this PKP? I MISS DRIVING. Okay silap lagi. I miss going out. I'm typing this on 1 Ramadan, by the way. Tengah tunggu Isyak. This is supposed to be a Ramadan post. * * * Hello. 3 Ramadan dah today. Tak sempat habiskan posting ritu sebab Sofia dah bangun.  Anyway... 1 Ramadan 1441 haritu, my mum suggested (told) us to recite Quran together. Try to finish reciting one whole Quran this Ramadan. The sequence is mum, me, Iz, and Chairin. The first day while dividing pages, my mum was saying okay 7 helai. And I was actually counting muka. Faham tak beza muka dan helai. One helai got two muka. Depan belakang. I didn't really realize this until Iz asked, "7 helai ke 7 muka?...

Entering the #duckcolouringchallenge

Image
Hello! Genap sebulan PKP harini... Malaysia started imposing the Movement Control Order (MCO) on 18th March 2020.  Among other things I did during this MCO, was joining competitions online. I entered a tag and win giveaway by @fashionvaletcom . Didn't won anything... Wasn't that lucky. Honestly, I rarely win things like that. Lucky draw? Never lucky. I also entered the #duckcolouringchallenge by @theduckgroup. The challenge was up to 7 days but I only entered for 3 days; a day gap in between for Netflix. Hahaha. And oh. Also because I was confident I would win the Day 6 challenge HAHAHA! ANYWAY.... Here I am sharing all my artwork. And also Sofia's... Because she saw me colouring in... Oh by the way, I didn't use any special app. Just that I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 , and there are functions of colouring in using pen, marker, highlights etc. I also had my sister in law to upload it for me because I didn't want to change my Instagram to pu...

Egg smash!

Image
Hello! It's Day 03 of MCO 3rd phase. Well, today... We started off by doing the Cotton Buds Colour Matching activity. Not much artsy stuff going on today, more on role play in which her dad is so good at. She could be anything... From fireman to police to Spongebob. Me? I wasn't much of a role play kind of person. I get bored acting different characters... This Egg Smashing activity, I got this idea from @lauraiz (Instagram). We did it yesterday. Eggshells and a ziplock bag. Actually I've tried this activity before with Sofia. Except that I didn't place the eggshells inside a ziplock bag. I let her smash it in a plastic bowl. And guess what, the bits of eggshells flew all over the place. So, put the eggshells inside a plastic bag.  Don't make the same mistake I did. She wanted to smash the eggshells using my water bottle. If you ever want to smash them using a wood spatula like this one, remember to smash them on a carpeted surface. I don't ...
