Yes, it's the finals already.

My first final paper would start tomorrow evening. Even thinking about it now makes me nervous, like, so nervous I'm having trouble eating. EVERYTIME, I really meant EVERY time there's a test or quiz or assessment, or assignments, I would get nervous. And this time, the finals, of course lah lebih nervous! This semester I'll be having 6 final papers: Fitness Testing and Evaluation Kinesiology Exercise Nutrition Law Relating to Sport and Recreation Prevention and Care of Sport Injuries Event Management There's no final paper for BEL (Presentation Skills), lucky thing. And oh, speaking of BEL, yesterday I actually bumped into my BEL lecturer. I'm with my mum you see, so it was kind o...

Hampir Lemas

Dear readers, Do pray for my safety and well-being... I'm facing quite a tough situation now where I'm a bit scared to go out on my own by myself. All I need right now is a pool of water to drown all these stress... But that swimming pool is the most dangerous place to go now. Yes, there's another pool at the Dataran Tunku Fauziah but that place is not swim- able . Yes, the one yang bentuk lapan tu... It's not even a swimming pool, it's a water fountain. Plus, it's not shaded, I'll get sunburned! And when I'm dark skinned, I feel ugly. No offense ya dark skinned people! I just am a bit phobic of being dark skinned... I couldn't go to Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan either because for someone who depend solely on public transportations, going there would take most of my study time... It's the finals already, hello~ Plus, the journey there alone is even more dangerous. I've been threatened . All I wanted to do is swim and te...

Hingus di air

Image
I know that sounded a bit gross and disgusting, right... Hingus are those mucus in your nose. Yup, it's those slimy fluid in your nose I'm talking about here. Nasal mucus. Yes, a swimming teacher has got to face those slimy fluid coming out from their students' nose. Most of the time. Considering the fact that your students will be breathing underwater by blowing out bubbles from their nose. I was teaching a group of ladies this morning aged between 25 to 45 years old. It happened to one of my students today. "Blow bubble, blow bubble..." *when she emerged from the water, there was a slimy fluid at the edge of her left nostril* I'm used to all that already. I've seen a much more slimy mucus than that... I told her to blow bubble again because the bubble is too big. Thus it showed that she's not relaxed enough. Blub blub blub blub~ This time I saw the mucus floating on the water surface. Just in front of her. Quite close to me. It was exactly right th...

Diastole Systole Stoley Troley Woley

Image
This, I must warn you, is an educational entry as I'm actually on my way to finishing this one last assignment before I get to focus on my final exams. I'm doing a summary on this one journal about 'Effects of a 10-week water aerobic exercise on the resting blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension'. (Remember the assignment that I received ZERO mark ? This one assignment was a second chance given by the lecturer. Oh-so-thankful!!!) The results shows that there's an impressive effect on the resting systolic blood pressure. Systolic blood pressure? Oh. Okay... Lupa sudah apa itu diastole systole! So back to basics! Diastole= Di-as-toe-lee, not dia sudah curi/ dia stole (past tense of steal) Systole= Sys-toe-lee Okay good. I'm still a bit blur about diastole and systole. Yup, the cardiac cycle. Malu gila ohhh... Already in second semester but still not sure about cardiac system! Okay okay Bash... Diastole time dia r...

Budak Sekolah Baru Balik Koko

I bumped into a friend a few days before the study week started... "Eh, kenapa pakai baju sukan?" "Oh sebab pagi tadi ada fitness test kat stadium..." "Lah... Ko sport rec ke? Aku ingat ko masscomm" -.-" Yes... I did went to an interview for a Diploma in Mass Communication. That was a few years back but I never studied under that faculty before. Not even once. It's such a coincidence; I have to go through interviews before I actually got accepted. Both for my diploma and degree. The only difference was I failed the diploma interview. Eheh. Up til' now, I'm still trying to cope with being a Sports Science student. Sports Science students are oh-so-synonym with trackpants. And I hated trackpants! Trackpants for me is simply so unflattering. And added with a backpack, I looked like a school kid who just got back from the school's co-curricular activity. No offense sport rec students! But I actually do feel like th...

BEL ball ballet

That was it. The last class for this semester, BEL 492 Presentation Skills … Madam Usdi was the only female lecturer who taught me this semester. The other 6 subjects were all male lecturers. I just came to realize that fact just now. At the end of the class I stayed a bit longer. Just to talk to her personally. I felt so guilty of always skipping her classes… I’m not a good student, I know. I must admit I always submit her assignments late. While the others would wait until the class really ended at 1 pm, I would leave exactly at 12.30 noon because I’ve to rush to the pool to teach swimming. While the others would type nicely their presentation outline, I would submit a handwritten one. While the others would have videos in their presentation slide, I would only have motionless pictures . While the others were talking about Titanic, The Beatles, and Revolution of Motorcycle, I would only talk simply about Dark Chocolate s. While the others would bring great props and ...

MOTIVATION

You’ve got to have motivation in order to complete something. That's what I realized. I’ve found my motivation somehow. These past few days I’ve been focusing more compared to before. I've been gaining more and more knowledge than ever before. Everytime something bad crossed my mind, I shoo-ed them away. GREAT. Somehow I've been feeling oh-so-happy for these past few days. =) Seriously, something magical just happened. Oh dear motivation, please please stay. Saya mahu jadi pandai! *Ahem* Oh. And be good too.

Saving Lives oh Lifeguarding

Image
Someone nearly drowned at the pool! I was the lifeguard on duty last Thursday. I actually had aimed this one girl for quite some time. She was swimming laps and laps yet her stroke was incorrect. Her breaststroke leg movement was wrong as she pulled her legs too near to her abs. I was just wondering “Uissh…. Ni mau sakit pinggang ni..” but I didn't expect her to really stop! I was actually text messaging a friend saying today I could relax a bit since there were many lifeguards around. Push the button 'send' and then exactly at that exact moment the girl stopped swimming! She stopped and then turned to face me. Yes. Exactly right in front of me. Lane 2 . Both hands were already waving. Then one hand up. One hand down. One hand up one hand down. I only looked down at her from the lifeguard high chair. Then I saw her panic face. Turun tangga, turun tangga. Oh, there’s a kicking board. ( I took Hazri’s advice on always bringing a kicking board with you anywhere while on du...

In RAPI sihat cantik...

Oh yes... I'm in RAPI ! Go buy yourself the RAPI magazine, 1st April 2011 edition. Well, if you're interested to see me in it lah... The UiTM lifeguards , including me, were featured in it. Heh. Eheh... Heh. Heh. Mum, of course bought one. Me myself bought another one. So I actually have two copies of that one magazine. TWO copies, okay! Soooo excited, right... Padahal bukan covergirl pun~ I was actually a bit nervous on how my picture would turn out in the mag. Because you see, on that day, though I've prepared myself by wearing a nice, decent baju kurung , at the last minute I've to change to sports attire... Yes, cool. The only chance for me to be in a magazine and I just have to wear track pants and a t-shirt. (Edwina Lim, you must be proud. I was wearing the t-shirt you gave me. Hah!) Comparing myself and the other lifeguards, clearly they are more prepared with make-up and all. They looked like models... Huh. So jealous la ... (Go see go see!) ...
