First family outing/ pap smear test

Image
We had our very first family outing!  Our small family, just Iz, Sofia, and me. Uwan decided not to accompany Sofia jalan-jalan this time. For my first appointment and Sofia's jaundice check up, my mum tagged along, helped to carry Sofia. Now that I'm out of pantang, maybe she thought I could handle things on my own already. Actually, during Sofia's one month check up, when the doctor saw mum holding Sofia, she asked, " Anak siapa ni? Peganglah sendiri." Uh sentap. Mum told her because I went through caesar but was immediately cut off by saying it has been one month already, should be okay. Well, basically two weeks post operation, I felt stronger already. But mum kept me grounded. Angkat pinggan ke dapur also got scolded... So when Uwan told Sofia she's not going, I am very sure she trusted me (and Iz) well enough to handle Sofia. I didn't worry much about carrying her. I'm worried about  handling her. What if she suddenly screamed, cried, m...

After Sofia

If I must state one thing that changed me after giving birth, it must be this;  I started to appreciate and respect my mum more. Managing the business together, I must say there are times (many times!) when we did argue. I have my own opinion, she has her own too. I admit to sometimes being harsh to her.  But after giving birth, as a matter of fact, while being pregnant, I slowly realized I have been a bad daughter. I kept on thinking how on earth did she managed to still work while carrying me around. But the fact that I still worked up to third trimester didn't make me so insaf. HA. I was thinking, oh come on I worked too... Teruk. DURING CONTRACTION IN THE LABOR ROOM was when I realized YA ALLAH KESIANNYA MAK. I wanted my mum by my side all the time, I wanted her to hold my hand all the time. I never needed her so bad as how much I needed her that time. And I also still had the time to think, why on earth did mum still wanted to have me? If it is this painful, ...

Waiting for Sofia to poop

Image
Yes, that's right. We waited for Sofia to poop. The last time she poop was Saturday 2am. Melambak-lambak, until it leaks on to my bedsheet. The whole Saturday night we hoped and prayed Sofia poop but nope. No poo poo. Then the whole day on Sunday, too. So, on Sunday night when she finally poop, we were all so happy! ALHAMDULILLAH SOFIA BERAK!!! Iz even gave her moral support... Come on, Sofia, teran lagi, teran lagi... We were very worried as she used to poop a lot each time after having formula milk. I gave her both breastmilk and formula milk, by the way. Feeding her quite a lot during the day with fm got us worried. Kenapa tak berak-berak lagi... I read up about my friend's baby who didn't poop for days and after she drank Vitagen and Yakult, her baby finally poop. But her baby is 6 months old and already had food. As the mother/ milk supplier , I was worried and kept on thinking what have I eaten so far until she didn't poop. Basically, yes, if anythi...

Sofia's first baju

The first set of clothes we bought for Sofia. I wanted pink but Iz insisted on orange as it is the colour we both wore the first time we took a photo together, also during engagement. So sweet, I know. Hehe.

My 44 days of pantang

Image
Sort of my pantang diary. Heh. Day 1 After labor at 4.50pm, puasa until next day. Only drink a few sips of warm water using a tiny straw. Nurse came at night, asked her if I could eat anything. Oh, cannot cannot... Day 2 Two nurse bathed me early in the morning. Well, basically just rubbing my body with wet towel. By now I have lost any shame. Just do anything. Pasrah. Redha. My very first meal. Roti putih with honey . For lunch, mum came with sup tahu. One whole tupperware of sup tahu with lots of halia . Nurse advised me to drink a lot. Showing directly in my face the colour of my bladder in the urine bag definitely is a wake up call. Okay, nurse. I'll drink up. By noon, my bladder was clear already and the nurse took the urine tube off. Taking it off is okay, putting it on is hurtfull. Seriously. I was told to try get up from the bed. Sakit memang sakit... But I tried. And I tried walking too. Two ustazah came to visit me and also gave a congratulations card. They rec...

Baby shoes

Image
Tita finally came to visit us both yesterday. Three pairs of baby shoes... Shoo cute! Feel like taking Sofia to the zoo in this! Eventhough Sofia is our first baby, and as a matter of fact, the first grandchild for both my parents and in-laws, most of her stuffs are not brand new. In other words, most of her stuffs are hand-me-downs . Especially clothes. We got two huge bags of baby clothes (mittens, socks, barut, napkins, hats) from our next door neighbour and Iz's friend, a strolley given by fil's friend, and a baby chair from the same couple who gave us the baby clothes.  Well, we did buy her some new clothes. Less than 10 pieces kut. Hahaha. We bought 2 rompers, 2 nighties/ overalls, 1 set of clothes (long sleeve, long pants), and just ONE set of mittens and boots. Okay. SIX. Six only. At first we didn't want to buy any new clothes but then I thought it would be so kesian to wear hand-me-downs on the first day being born... So we bought one romper. Which sh...
