When You're Old

 Selamat berpuasa.

The last two/three nights ago, the tazkirah was done after Isyak prayer, before solat tarawikh. (before this usually the tazkirah is after 8 rakaat but maybe because after 8 rakaat the mosque is half empty already so the ustaz decided to give tazkirah after Isyak... Good strategy!) So we have no choice except to sit and listen, unless we came just to perform our Isyak prayer. -.-"

There was this one quote:
"...tidak pasti lagi Ramadhan seterusnya kita akan berada disini lagi atau tidak."
(not sure yet whether next Ramadhan we'll still be here or not)

I've heard that quote a whole load of time but somehow last night it really hit me. Real hard. It suddenly sparks a great interest. Maybe because of age factor, so I began to take things seriously.

Anyhow, I really did think hard about it... I still think about it now and then. Whether or not I'll still be alive next Ramadhan I don't know.

Before this I never really really thought about it. About whether I'll still be alive or not.
And yet, I keep on making plans.

I planned on getting married at the age of 25.
I planned to teach my children swimming myself.
I planned to have a house with a garden.
I planned, I planned, I planned...

Someone once told me don't always think about the future because you are living in the present. And don't always think about the past because you wouldn't move forward.
Thinking about death is a scary thing.

But as I've think it over, the quote 'Live like you're dying' is actually true. Because only then you'll do your best in everything and begin to appreciate every single moment in your life. Instead of procrastinating, do it now! :)

I remember this quote from Kung Fu Panda. It's the part when the tortoise kung fu master was about to die. He said, "The past is a history, the future is a mystery and today is a gift. That's why it is called the Present" I think most of us just concentrate more on our future rather just focus on the "now" moment. :)

Yong: Hey I love that quote! It is SO true! Makes sense: Present=Gift. Though I've watched Kungfu Panda, I didn't quite remember it. Heh... I'm gonna put that quote in this post now :D
