Perihal face mask

Image
Never underestimate the power of a face mask. I, for one, am not really a face mask person. Well, what I really meant was in terms of buying face masks. I don't go buy facial masks. I make my own. I always feel that buying facial masks is a waste of money because I can simply make my own. Thanks to my mum who taught me a lot of ways on making them. Egg white, tomatoes, yogurt, kunyit, milk powder... Semua tu you can get at home. Nak putih? Guna susu tepung. Nak hilangkan sunburn? Guna tomato. Nak kulit tegang? Guna putih telur. BUT. I ain't got time for that anymore darling. So there was this one time, I bought cooling eye patches and asked my husband to help put it on my eyes while I lie down to nurse Sofia.  Wow it felt great! It feels great to know that I'm doing something for myself. Being a stay at home working from home mum, I always feel that ALL MY TIME is dedicated to Sofia. Until I have no more energy and no more time left for myself.  So I made a...

Sushi Monday

Image
Wasn't my first time making sushi. Monday used to be sushi day for my husband (zaman sebelum Sofia). Had been quite some time since I last made one, but I got inspired to make one again after reading Nany Fadhly's blog post. Thank you Nany Fadhly for sharing! You can read more on how to make your own sushi, Nany Fadhly style, here . Her sushi had more stuff in it. Mine was very simple. Although I got inspired make one similar to hers, the end result was really, just like one I used to make before. Hahahah.  So, if you're planning to make one, or it is your first time making it, try mine. Heheh. Basically, you will need seaweed. There's a bigger piece but I bought a small one. Half the one Nany Fadhly used. This one costs around RM6. Next, you will need rice. I use SUMO calrose rice. I saw another brand, SAKURA, slightly cheaper but since I've been using SUMO before this, I'll just stick to it. 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice. Here I made 2 cups ...

Dadih mangga dengan cebisan mangga

Image
Dengan menggunakan serbuk dadih segera perisa mangga, senang je. Just follow the recipe on the packaging. Hahaha. Mine was using Nona, 130 g. Except instead of 1500 ml of water, I added another 100 ml totalling up to 1600 ml. Because I read up if you added more water, your dadih will be softer. Tapi tak berani tambah banyak-banyak... Hahah. Okayla, lembut la jugak. The mango chunks? No, they didn't come together in the packet (in case you're wondering). I cut out some fresh mangoes into small pieces and added them in together when I pour in the dadih mix. You have to boil water, sugar, and your susu Ideal first before adding in the instant dadih powder. It was my first time making dadih. So, yeay! One more new recipe for 2017! I targeted 10. Oh by the way, the initial plan was to make about 20 dadih in small containers for my husband to bring to his office for sedekah Jumaat. But since Sofia woke up already, I only made 14 small containers and 4 big ones like the...

Sofia turns one

Image
How do I start this? Hm. Counting days to her birthday, I already had in mind what caption I would write on Instagram. Or Facebook. Or up on the blog. Heh. Modern days mum... Fikir caption apa. At first what I had in mind was, "Sofia turned one today! I AM PROUD OF MYSELF for managing to care for her one whole year though I lose myself sometimes" But when the day finally came, I just couldn't let that out because that was not what I felt at the moment. Early in the morning I sang her a birthday song. Before she woke up, during Subuh prayers, I flashed back in my mind what happened on this day at this exact moment one year ago. My water leaked; not knowing what it was I WhatsApped Tita, what is this clear fluid flowing out like kencing since last night but I'm pretty sure it's not kencing. Iz, my mum, and Tita were alarmed while I was still relaxed not knowing it's consequence. Followed Tita's advice to go to the hospital. Eh eh sudahnya beranak t...

Ah forget it!

Image
There was this one time, we were getting ready to meet a representative from an agency. Something important for the business. The thing is, going out now is so not like the good ol bujang days. With Sofia, I had to bathe her, feed her, pack her drinks, diapers, napkin, wet wipes... Baru boleh bertolak. But since we had to rush, I didn't bathe her. After feeding her breakfast, we were all set to go. I thought we were early enough. Well, no. The representative left already. We could have just go to their office but Sofia wouldn't cooperate. Bath time, hello? Mama, it's bath time! I know I shouldn't give up, but I did. We went straight home and in my mind I told myself, 'Ah forget it. I'll just focus on Sofia for now. When you're older, I'll do what I want'. Because if I didn't set my mind like that I'd get stressed and let it out on her. I have finally realised (after many times) that I'd get stressed if I didn't get what I want. ...

Buying books for Sofia

Image
Ever since realizing Sofia could flip pages, I know I should get her more books. When you have a baby, you tend to appreciate even the tiniest of achievements. She used to only bite the books, but recently she has started flipping pages. Still biting at times but well, it's a start. Apa? Beli je online? Well, I already did. I bought a cloth book for about RM11.88 at Lazada (Hi, Mummy Cici!)... Very cheap, I think. But Sofia wasn't really interested in it... Hm. Honestly, I wasn't satisfied with the product either. When I opened the package,  flipped the pages, I was like... Ini je? Hm. Anyhow... Went to Borders and saw a section for babies and toddlers. But I still couldn't find the touch and feel books that I wanted. But there are a lot of childrens' books that are so cute! And cheap, too! Okay, affordable. Belasan ringgit okay la kan. I settled for these two books. Both of these tak sampai RM50 pun. Belasan ringgit je each of this. Of good quali...
